StrackaHoLo is hole-location software and pinsheets for golf facilities, superintendents, and event staff. It sits on the same laser-scanned greens that print in a StrackaLine book: slope in percent, a real view of the putting surface, and the hazards around it. Jim Stracka invented the laser-scanned green-reading map in 2007. StrackaHoLo is how a club uses that scan to set the hole, print a pinsheet, and rotate locations so the green is not worn in the same spot every day.

Set the hole from the scan

Hole locations can be set from StrackaLine greens slope data instead of from a circle drawn on a blank green. Setting locations from slope and edge clearance is how a staffer keeps a pin fair for the day — tournament versus recreational play, green speed, and the edge of the surface all change what “fair” means. Green Manager is the place those candidate locations live. Hundreds of pin placements can sit on each green so the rotation is not three cups and a guess.

A calendar logs those locations so a course can minimize wear. The same green that prints in a USGA greens guide is the green the superintendent is managing. 13,000+ courses have full hyper-accurate green data in the 31K+ course database. If a facility wants the scan in a book as well as on a pinsheet, that is the wholesale path, not this product.

USGA hole-location sheets that show nine or more holes on a single sheet may be larger than the 4 1/4 × 7 inch book size, provided each putting-green image still meets the 3/8 inch to 5 yard scale. That is the Rule 4.3 language on What’s Legal? – USGA Rules. A pinsheet is not a recommended line of play. It is where the hole is, on a map that still has to obey scale.

What a pinsheet can show

For years, pin sheets were printed circle-green designs that did little for a golfer walking to the next tee. StrackaHoLo prints a real view of the green and the surrounding bunkers and penalty areas. Staff choose how much detail to put on the sheet: slope, directional arrows, fall lines, front/middle/back, paces, depth, and a center mark are options on the print side. Formats cover 18-up, 9-up with fold, greenskeeper 2-up, and other layouts the shop already uses.

A pinsheet can also go to the player before they reach the first tee. That is useful when a club or a junior event is hosting and the field needs the same hole locations without waiting at the counter. Players can view positions on a phone. The on-course green-reading app is still Putt Line + GPS; StrackaHoLo is the facility tool that sets and publishes the hole.

Events, shops, and teams

Junior and amateur event organizations use hole-location tools together with leaderboards and custom books. Leaderboards are a separate hub: Golf event leaderboards. College programs that need books plus stats sit on the NCAA program page. Pace of play is one reason to set locations from slope data: a pin that is fair for the speed that day is a pin the field can play. Wear is the other: a calendar of locations keeps traffic from living on the same shelf. Neither of those jobs is a book sale. If the pro shop also wants greens guides on the counter, use wholesale book pricing for that order and keep StrackaHoLo for the pinsheets.
