Golf course data API
The golf course data API is the StrackaGolf dataset as JSON: course search, scorecards, GPS layers, and 3D green slope. Use it to build a golf app. Rangefinders, caddie apps, simulators, and wearables all need a course, a green, and a number they did not have to map themselves. What the API is for
It is a public JSON API for live-golfer use: course search, scorecards, GPS layers (tees, fairways, bunkers, penalty areas, hole outlines, greens), 3D green slope and elevation, and live lie elevation. It is not player rankings, not a scoreboard, and not a player-history feed. Twenty years of proprietary golf course data sit behind it — laser scans, drone flights, airplane, and satellite — with daily course updates around the world since 2007, the year Jim Stracka invented the laser-scanned green-reading map. Staff map courses every day. The quality is the highest available by course, not a one-time scrape of a public listing.
3D green slope is the same dual-view topographic surface that prints in a USGA greens guide: slope in percent, accurate to the millimeter, the grid a golfer uses to locate the ball and the hole. GPS layers are the hole around that green. A scorecard is the tees, par, and hole list an app needs before it can show a round. Together that is enough to build a golfer experience without standing up your own mapping crew.
The consumer maps you already know are the same dataset. Printed books, Putt Line + GPS, StrackaHoLo pinsheets, and vTour all read from it. The database holds 31K+ courses; 13,000+ have full hyper-accurate green data. More than two million physical books have been sold from that work. If you are building an app, you license the data. You do not scrape a book.
